I am ending the year with reflections and resolutions. This is one of my favorite things to do as the new year approaches. To look back on the previous year and dream of the new one. 2020 will be a big year….a new decade…I turn 50…my last child leaves, making me and my hubby empty nesters. A new season begins and I am excited to sit and make plans for what our new normal will look like.
I am not going to sit here and pretend that 50 is not feeling a little weird. It’s not so much the number, but more about reflection of the last 50 years. What I have done? Have I been a “giver” and not a “taker”? Do I love big enough? Am I living my hopes and dreams? This is deep stuff guys….;).
It is taking me time to sort out how I feel about my next adventure. I do know this…I have Jesus walking right beside me. Messaging me in his way and timing, that whatever I do, do it with grace and kindness. I am healthy, I am happy, and my kids and family are all thriving. There has to be some accomplishment in that right?
Reflections Are Cathartic
I started this blog a year ago. For several years, I sat in fear thinking I was too old or would anyone care what I had to say. One day, I just said screw it…I am going to live out one of my passions and see what happens. Blogging can be very therapeutic guys! Wether anyone reads it or not, I get to write about the things I am passionate about. I get to share with each of you, ” everything I find fabulous”. It’s not that I find myself this guru of knowledge on any particular point, but it’s more about sharing my absolute joy in the things that I love, in hopes that it brings you joy too.
I would be remiss if I didn’t express my absolute gratitude for what cabi has done for me over the last 15 years. I’m not sure if I have ever spoken of my divorce, but I found cabi when I was raising my three kids as a single mom. It brought me out of a truly sad time and gave me the confidence I needed in so many areas of my life. It showed my children that I could do anything! What started out as a work from home business, has turned into something completely different. I have this amazing business of precious, loyal customers. My cabi family have become some of my closest and dearest friends. Lastly, the income that this business generated for my family has been life changing.
I want to say that I am not a super sappy person. But, I do believe I hit the jackpot of husbands. I’m sure EVERYONE feels this way, but he is my Godsend. He brought life back into my heart when I believed I didn’t ever want it again. He has helped raise my babies so unselfishly. To take on 3 young children and love them unconditionally each in the way that they needed to be loved…well…that takes a truly remarkable person. I can only pray that I mothered his son with the grace he has fathered mine.
Bring On The Resolutions
This has got to be one of my favorite things to do. I love to take a fresh notebook (pretty one of course) and write down my vision for the new year. I mean how does this not get you excited? To write down your dreams and goals, both personally and professionally makes my vision real. 2019 was a tough year…but with it brought new challenges. So, to have read the previous goals from 2019 and see the growth through that diversity gives me hope.
I know this, no one has it completely perfect. We are all trying to navigate this crazy life. My goals may feel simple, but I always try to have three. Three that I can dig dip in too and truly change. So here we go:
Goal Number One
This first one is a tough one. We want to be financially free of debt. So big changes have to be made to start this huge dream. What I mean, is that I want to live in a total cash world. If I don’t have the cash for it…I am not going to buy it. A quick story where I feel like God was sending me a message… I was notified the other day from an account I follow, that I won a gift from an Organic spa. First, I NEVER win anything! So, I was pumped! I mean who doesn’t love a little treat treat in the mail??
I was notified by the spa that they were sending me a package. When I received it, it was a book! From an organic spa! LOL. Guess what the book was? An autographed copy of Dave Ramseys, “A complete guide to money”. Okay guys, that’s a sign from above! I totally believe in messages from God delivered in unique ways! Do you?? So, this is becoming the most important agenda on my “goals for 2020” list.
Goal Number Two
Having built a business, I cannot help but pursue new opportunities that bring fulfillment to my every day work. I have been fortunate to build a team of the most incredible women. I mean these ladies are rock stars! So, I am always trying to find other women to join me in what I do. It’s changed my life…I believe it can change someone else’s too!
I will continue on my new journey of blogging. I’m still enjoying this ride of sharing my heart and my insights with you. I have several micro goals on how I want to grow, but this is the big picture goal. I am so fortunate to be working with women who help my business and educate me on ALL aspects of what it takes to run a successful business. They are a mix of beautiful mentors, coaches, teachers and friends. I am blessed that they came in to my life.
Goal Number Three
This is a tough one and super personal. I am a total control freak. I mean in all aspects of my life and it’s exhausting! LOL!! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to let it all go? So, I am going to make it my goal, that every night I write down what I am grateful for. There has to be something very moving in writing down the small pieces of your day that make it special.
I know that God has something big planned for my life this year. So much change is coming and I want my heart to be open and grateful for it. My prayer for each of you is that 2020 is filled with prosperity, hope and wellness. Those were three words that came up for me the other day. Maybe it’s a future tattoo!! 😉
Happy New Years sweet friends!
